This project is a continuation of “Too much overthinking”.

With this project I decided to do something that relates more to my practice, such as textile design, all of this while still including the main concepts of the project.
I used crochet, as a medium, which, such as knitting, is a medium that is known for relaxation and as an activity in which you don’t overthink much.

In addition, overthinking is indeed a not talked enough topic, which is why I wanted to turn it into something that could instead be shared with someone. By also taking the idea of self-reporting my overthinking with crochet, my final outcome is a long scarf representing my own personal overthinking from January to March.

It’s divided by colours, (red, orange, yellow and green) which represent the intensity, with red being the strongest intensity and green the least (no overthinking). Therefore, each time I overthink is represented by 2 single crochet lines and a colour. This has also the purpose to be wrapped around two people, me and someone else, in order to share my overthinking with them, to show them that they are not alone and to make this topic more common.
