This project is about the strawberry’s journey explained through a pic-nic blanket. It’s purpose is to be used as a centre point to peacefully bring people together in conversation about different topics my project could relate to.
All the rectangles are naturally dyed on silk, with different types of strawberries and strawberry flavoured drinks, candy and jelly. In each of them there’s a text to indicate their origins and place of growth. Some of the rectangles also contain a knitted piece of wool that has also been naturally dyed with the same product as the fabric one.
This project explains how we individuals, even if with multiple cultures, we do and don’t originate from a single place.
